Dr. Slutsky has been in practice in Torrance, CA since 1991. He is the former Chief of reconstructive surgery at Harbor UCLA. He is the Founding Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Wrist Surgery. He is the past president of the Southern California Society for Surgery of the Hand and former Director of the International Wrist Investigators workshop. He is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and past chair of the Publications Committee (2010-2013). He is the past president of the European Wrist Arthroscopy Society (2014 – 2015). He has authored 39 peer reviewed publications, 75 book chapters, chaired 25 courses, 6 webinars, presented over 100 papers and produced over 100 surgical videos. He has served as an editor of 3 Hand Clinic journals as well as 12 books on Hand Surgery including Nerve Injuries, Wrist Arthroscopy, Wrist Disorders, Distal Radius and Scaphoid Fractures, Microvascular surgery and Upper extremity surgery.

Leo T. Happel, Ph.D., D.ABNM, FASNM is the director of clinical operations at NTI. He is a gratis faculty member of the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Happel has expertise in IOM and clinical neurophysiology, including over 35 years of peripheral nerve research with many publications in this area.
He is a founding member of the American Board of Neurophysiologic Monitoring (ABNM), a fellow of the American Society of Neurophysiological Monitoring (ASNM), and a member of the Sunderland Society, the International Peripheral Nerve Study Group.
He is well published with many articles on neurology and nerve disorders.
Roger Allen, PT, PhD

Professor Emeritus, Physical Therapy University of Puget Sound
Prof. Allen taught courses on clinical anatomy, neuroscience, functional neuroanatomy, and psychological aspects of physical therapy practice. In addition to his physical therapy degree, he holds a PhD in psychophysiology, MSEd in health education and BS in both psychology and biology. His physical therapy practice specialized in the treatment of people who experience chronic pain, with emphasis on the treatment of complex regional pain syndrome. The integration of psychophysiological expertise and hands-on treatment of patients with chronic pain has afforded him unique professional perspectives on both pain management and understanding of the complex (and often surprising) relationships between our bodies, our minds, and mechanisms within the human brain. His primary research work now explores delayed modulation mechanisms of neuropathic pain. He is author of three textbooks, along with chapters in the three most recent editions of the encyclopedic benchmark reference, Bonica’s Management of Pain. He has now made over 100 national and international research presentations at venues including the Nobel Institute for Neurophysiology, World Pain Congress, World Congress of Physical Therapy, World Congress of Neurology, American Pain Society, World Institute of Pain, European Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine, American Academy of Orthopaedic and Manual Physical Therapists, and regularly at APTA’s Combined Sections Meetings and Annual Conferences. His published research has appeared in journals such as the international Journal of Physical Therapy, Psychophysiology, the Journal of Neurological Physical Therapy, European Journal of Pain, Physiotherapy, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinics of North America, the International Journal of Sport Psychology, and includes an anthologized paper in the science parody Journal of Irreproducible Results. Much of his research was conducted with the integral involvement of his graduate physical therapy students and undergraduate neuroscience interns. These important faculty/student collaborations ignited and nurtured the sparks of exciting fresh insights. So far, more than 100 of his students have presented research at national or international conferences, or published their work in professional journals, and four have received international research awards.
In 2005 he was granted a John Lantz Senior Research Fellowship to complete research aimed at mapping neurovascular innervation patterns of peripheral nerves and subsequently received the Brown Sequard Medal from the Institut de Physiologie Nervologie for this work. From the University of Puget Sound, he is recipient of the Dirk Andrew Phibbs Memorial Research Award and the Outstanding Teaching Award (now named the Tom Davis Teaching Award). Prof. Allen was selected in 2016 to deliver the 44th
Regester Lecture, “Echoes of Pain in the Neuromatrix” and in 2017 was recognized with the President’s Excellence in Teaching Award, presented by University of Puget Sound President Isiaah Crawford.

Jun Kimura, MD

Dr. Jun Kimura was born on Feb. 25, 1935, in Kyoto, Japan, and was brought up in Takayama, a scenic rural place near Kyoto. He once graduated from School of Technology in 1957, but re-entered Medical School of Kyoto University, and obtained MD (1961). He was granted a Fulbright Scholarship (1962-1967), and began his career at the University of Iowa School of Medicine as a medical resident and fellow (1962-1968), associate professor (1972-1977), and professor (1977-1988).
He was an internationally renowned pioneer in the field of Clinical Electrophysiology. He began his career at the University of Iowa School of Medicine as a medical resident and fellow (1962-1968), Associate Professor (1972-1977), and Professor (1977-1998). Dr. Kimura returned to his alma mater, to serve as Professor and Chairman of the Kyoto University Department of Neurology (1988-1998) before returning back to the University of Iowa as Professor Emeritus (1998-2022). He authored Electrodiagnosis in Diseases of Nerve and Muscle, considered the standard textbook in the field. Dr. Kimura received many awards during his career, including the American Association of Electrodiagnostic Medicine Lifetime Achievement Award (1999) and the International Congress of Neuromuscular Diseases Lifetime Achievement Award (2006). He also served in many leadership positions, including as President of the Japanese Neurological Society (1997-1998), and President of the World Federation of Neurology (2002-2005). He passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on March 3, 2022.
Despite his impressive academic accomplishments, Dr. Kimura is best remembered for his kindness, generosity, and humility. He was a brilliant and caring mentor and treated everyone with respect.
Sohrab Gollogly, MD

Sohrab Gollogly, MD is a board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon with more than 20 years of experience in the surgical treatment of spinal disorders. His practice focuses on endoscopic, minimally invasive procedures of the lumbar and cervical spine, with an emphasis on motion preservation and avoiding unnecessary fusion surgery.
Dr. Gollogly completed his medical training at the University of Washington, followed by orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Utah. He pursued advanced fellowship training in adult spine surgery in Lyon, France, and pediatric spine surgery in San Diego, California.
He is a founding member of the EndoSpine Academy at Balgrist University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland, where he participates in surgeon education, technique development, and the international advancement of endoscopic spine surgery. His academic work includes peer-reviewed publications on spinal alignment, biomechanics, and endoscopic surgical techniques.
Dr. Gollogly has practiced in Monterey, California since 2003 and maintains active hospital affiliations while operating an independent practice that allows for extended patient education, advanced techniques, and individualized care.
Martin Favetto, MD

Dr. Favetto is a hand surgeon and partner at Bluegrass Orthopaedics. He received his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires, School of Medicine in Argentina. He is board certified in orthopaedics and traumatology by the Ministry of Health and Social Action in Argentina. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Eva Peron Hospital in San Martin, Argentina. After relocating to Kentucky, Dr. Favetto completed a fellowship at the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Micro Surgery in Kentucky. He continued at the Kleinert Institute as Senior Fellow and ultimately as Hand Scholar. Dr. Favetto is a teacher and lecturer in upper-extremity hand injuries and trauma with an emphasis on wrist and elbow arthroscopy.
Daniel Dumitru, MD, PhD

Daniel Dumitru, MD, PhD, is an American physiatrist and electromyographer renowned for his expertise in electrodiagnostic medicine and his contributions to the field through clinical practice, education, and authorship. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in 1980 and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) in 1983. Board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine, Dumitru has practiced for over four decades, specializing in rehabilitation medicine and electrodiagnostic testing to diagnose neuromuscular disorders.
Currently a professor in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at UTHSCSA, Dumitru provides care at University Hospital in San Antonio, where he is recognized for his patient-centered approach and high ratings in electrodiagnostic services. His scholarly impact is highlighted by his co-authorship of the second edition of Electrodiagnostic Medicine (2001), a comprehensive reference text on the principles, theory, and clinical applications of electrodiagnostic techniques, widely regarded as a foundational resource for practitioners and residents in the field. In 2024, he received the Top Doctors Award, placing him among the top 7% of U.S. physicians nominated by peers in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
Devon Rubin, MD

Devon Rubin, M.D., is a professor of Neurology and is a neuromuscular neurologist, electromyographer, and educator at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville, Florida. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis, medical degree at University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, and his neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology training at Mayo Clinic Rochester from 1993-1998. Dr. Rubin specializes in clinical electromyography and neuromuscular diseases and has served as the Director of the EMG laboratory for over 15 years.
In addition to practicing electrodiagnostic medicine and neuromuscular neurology, he has a passion for education in clinical electromyography. He has developed numerous education products to teach interpretation of EMG. He has published over 80 articled and 30 book chapters related to various aspects of clinical electromyography and is editor of the 5th edition of the textbook, Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Rubin has been recognized for his contributions in education by receiving the Jun Kimura Outstanding Educator award from AANEM, Mayo Clinic Distinguished Education Award, A.B Baker Teacher Recognition Award (AAN), Mayo Clinic Innovation and Collaboration Award, Teacher of the Year Award (Mayo Clinic), and Program Director Recognition Award.
A. Lee Dellon, MD, PhD

He went on to study pre-med at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore and graduated with a BA in 1966. He then proceeded to Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine where he earned his MD in 1970. Dellon then spent two years as a Clinical Associate and Lieutenant commander in the United States Public Health Service in the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute. He became the first Hand Surgery Fellow at the Curtis National Hand Center in Baltimore in 1977 and completed Plastic Surgery Residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1978. He received a PhD from Utrecht University in the Netherlands in 2007 for his work relieving pain, preventing ulcers and amputations in diabetics with neuropathy and chronic nerve compression.
Career
Dellon founded the Dellon Institutes for Peripheral Nerve Surgery in 2000 and began the first Peripheral Nerve Fellowship training program in 2002. He serves as Professor of Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He remains the only person to be promoted at the Johns Hopkins University to Full Professor of Plastic Surgery and Neurosurgery while in private practice. Dellon is the author of five books, as well as over 450 scientific papers. He held editorial positions for many years on various journals in the field of plastic surgery including Annals of Plastic Surgery, Journal of Hand Therapy, Journal of Hand Surgery, (American Volume) and Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery.
Dellon is one of the founding members of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve (ASPN) in 1991 and is its second President as of 2016. He is also the founding member of the Association of Extremity Nerve Surgeons in 2005 and received its Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
J. Robinson Singleton, MD

Dr. J. Rob Singleton is professor and vice chairman in the University of Utah Department of Neurology and service chief for neurology at the Salt Lake City Veterans Affairs Health System. Dr. Singleton is a neuromuscular specialist with expertise in clinical investigation, electrodiagnostic evaluation, and treatment of peripheral nerve and muscle disease. His research has focused on the relationship between early hyperglycemia, dyslipidemia, and obesity and length dependent nerve injury. Since 2010, Dr. Singleton has directed the Utah CTSA award site Clinical Trial Services Foundation and oversees the 70+ protocols currently using the CTSF. He is also site principal investigator for the NINDS NeuroNEXT clinical trials consortium.

Joseph Aldrete, MD

COL (Ret.) Joseph F. Alderete Jr., MD, FAOA, is an orthopaedic oncologist and limb restoration expert at UT Health San Antonio, where he serves as Associate Professor, the Frances and Blackstone Dilworth Professor in Orthopaedic Oncology, and Director of the RegenR8 Limb Optimization Research Laboratory. A West Point graduate and Mayo Clinic–trained surgeon, Dr. Alderete has dedicated his career to caring for patients with complex limb injuries and advancing innovations that improve recovery, mobility, and quality of life.
Dr. Alderete served 30 years in the U.S. Army, leading surgical and medical teams around the world—including roles as Chief Surgeon for Task Force 32 in Iraq and Deputy Commander for Clinical Services in Afghanistan. He also helped lead the Center for the Intrepid at Brooke Army Medical Center, one of the nation’s premier centers for amputee and limb salvage rehabilitation. Throughout his service, he cared for severely injured service members, helped shape national standards in extremity trauma care, and championed breakthroughs in amputee rehabilitation and limb optimization.
Today, Dr. Alderete’s work brings together clinical care, research, and innovation. Through the RegenR8 lab and ongoing Department of Defense collaborations, he is developing new approaches in nerve repair, bone regeneration, osseointegration, and human performance. He is widely recognized for his leadership, education, and military medical service, and continues to mentor future surgeons while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in limb restoration.
Adam Strohl, MD

Nerve function and their injuries have always been a focus of Dr. Strohl’s attention and aspirations. Having studied neurosciences as an undergraduate at Washington University in St Louis, he subsequently worked with the late Dr. John McDonald and Dr. Cristina Sadowsky at Washington University School of Medicine and Kennedy Krieger Institute/Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. As clinical research coordinator, he conducted clinical trials studying the effects of Activity-Based Restorative Therapies on individuals with spinal cord injuries.
After obtaining his medical degree at UMDNJ-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, he completed a six-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. He then pursued an orthopaedic fellowship in hand surgery at the renowned Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center in Philadelphia, PA under the tutelage of its Chairman, Dr. Lee Osterman. After fellowship, Dr. Strohl became the first and only plastic surgery-trained hand surgeon to join Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center, comprised of sixteen orthopaedic-trained hand surgeons.
In addition to the usual ailments and injuries of the upper extremity, Dr. Strohl’s practice focuses on cutting-edge techniques utilizing microsurgery for soft-tissue reconstruction, nerve repairs, and limb salvage. These specialized procedures include microvascular free tissue transfer, nerve transfers for brachial plexus injuries/spinal cord injuries, targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) for amputee care, and digit replantation following amputation.
His practice of hand surgery is balanced by principles of both plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery – an “ortho-plastic” approach to complex problems. He is one of the Co-Directors and Co-Founders of the Limb Restoration Clinic (LRC) at Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center, a highly specialized program focusing on patients with brachial plexus injury, limb loss, neuromatous pain, spinal cord injury, and all other complex extremity problems.
For thirty-five years, his family owned and operated the iconic Café Edison, affectionately known as “The Polish Tea Room,” in the heart of Time Square in New York City. He worked alongside his grandparents throughout his childhood, feeding most of the Broadway theater world and millions of tourists and regular diners. Strong work ethic and good food are tenets ingrained in his DNA.
Ralph Buschbacher, MD

Dr. Ralph Michael Buschbacher, M.D. is a physical medicine and rehabilitation expert witness from Indiana. He has medical practitioners license from the state of Indiana and is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Buschbacher completed his B.A. in 1984 and then earned his M.D. in 1988 from the University of Virginia at University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Virginia. He further completed his internship in 1989 and his residency in 1992 from the Spartanburg Regional Medical Center at Spartanburg, South Carolina and the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Medical College of Virginia Hospitals at Richmond, Virginia. Currently, Dr. Buschbacher is the Professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Indiana University Medical Center at Indianapolis, Indiana. Dr. Buschbacher is the author of many published books and articles, including Buschbacher’s Manual of Nerve Conduction Studies, considered one of the gold standard reference book for clinical nerve conduction studies and electromyography.
Sanjeev Nandedekar, PhD

Dr. Nandedkar initially received his Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering. After working at the Uppsala University and Duke University Medical Center, he joined the TECA Corporation (now known as Natus Neurology) where he helps in the design of electromyographs. His research interests are quantitative signal analysis, single fiber EMG and Motor unit number index (MUNIX). He has travelled to many countries to lecture at seminars and conduct workshops. He was given the Distinguished Service Award by American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) in 2002. He also shares the Distinguished Research Award from the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Sanjeev enjoys his travels and sight-seeing.
Erik Stålberg, MD, PhD

Dr. Erik Stålberg is Professor emeritus in Clinical Neurophysiology, Uppsala University. Together with J Ekstedt he developed the Single Fiber EMG method in the 1960-ties. After his PhD thesis on “Propagation velocity in Single muscle fibers” he joined the hospital EMG lab in Uppsala in 1967. He was chairman of the department 1993-2001. After retirement 2001 he continued in the lab with routine EDX work, research and teaching. The early years were filled with methodological struggle to prove that it was possible to make recordings from individual muscle fibers and to document the usefulness of SFEMG in the evaluation of nerve-muscle diseases. His interest in signal analysis of various signal types in the EMG lab continues through his career and he implemented computers in routine analysis of the EMG signal in the late 1970-ties. Stålberg developed a number of EMG methods in addition to SFEMG such as Macro EMG, Scanning EMG and quantitation of EMG and neurography. Through many publications, courses and lectures he has spread the message on how to implement useful diagnostic methods and how to optimize the value of EDX.
David Fuller, MD

David A. Fuller, MD is the Chairman and Chief of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Cooper University Hospital, Camden, NJ. He is also a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the affiliated Cooper Medical School of Rowan University. Dr. Fuller is a graduate of Dartmouth College (AB, Engineering) and the University of Pennsylvania (MD). He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Case Western Reserve University. He completed three fellowships: Allen Research Fellow (Case Western Reserve University), Hand & Microvascular Surgery (Thomas Jefferson University); Neuro-Orthopaedics (Albert Einstein Medical Center)
He has been prolific academically with numerous publications and presentations to his credit and continues scholarly pursuits currently with ongoing grant funded research. His current research interests include peripheral nerve injury and repair, orthopaedic trauma and graduate medical education. He has led both regional and national orthopaedic
organizations including serving as President for the Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Association. He has helped to create educational curriculum for the medical school as an original course director of the musculoskeletal course and also for the orthopaedic residency program for which he was the founding program director for the ACGME residency at Cooper.
He loves to snowboard with his wife and 4 children especially in the Park City area.
