A New Era for Clinical ENMG Education
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions is partnering with The EMG Solutions Institute to strengthen its clinical ENMG education. The partnership will manage and promote the Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced ENMG courses, along with the Annual ENMG Symposium.
Annual ENMG Symposium Comes to Columbus
The next Annual ENMG Symposium will be held at The Hughston Foundation in Columbus, Georgia. The event will offer educational sessions, professional networking, and expanded opportunities for clinical learning.
Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine
The development of the Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine marked another major chapter in the university’s growth and its expanding role in healthcare education.
University Earns Institutional Accreditation
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions became accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, reinforcing its position as an established healthcare education institution.
Growing Recognition Across Health Professions
As Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions expanded, its academic programs earned institutional and specialized accreditations across multiple healthcare disciplines. These include:
- CCNE accreditation for Nursing, from 2006
- NWCCU institutional accreditation, from 2010 to present
- CAPTE accreditation for Physical Therapy, from 2010
- ABPTRFE accreditation for the Neonatology Fellowship, from 2012
- ARC-PA accreditation for Physician Assistant studies, from 2015
- ACOTE accreditation for Occupational Therapy, from 2025
- ACOE accreditation for Optometry, from 2026
- ASHA accreditation for Medical Speech-Language Pathology
Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions
The institution adopted the name Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions, reflecting its expansion beyond physical therapy into a wider range of healthcare disciplines.
Rocky Mountain University of Physical Therapy
The university was established as Rocky Mountain University of Physical Therapy, building upon years of experience in electrophysiology education and clinical training.
Institute for Clinical Electrophysiology
The Institute for Clinical Electrophysiology continued the development of structured education and practical training in clinical electrophysiology.
The First EMG Symposium
The first EMG Symposium was held in Durango, Colorado. It created a dedicated environment for clinicians to learn, exchange ideas, and advance their electrophysiology skills.
Electrophysiologic Testing Seminars
Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Special Topics seminars were offered to provide clinicians with progressively deeper training in electrophysiologic testing.
Clinical Training at Camp Pendleton
Mike Skurja and Rick Nielsen trained themselves in clinical electrophysiology while working together at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. Their work became part of the foundation for the educational programs that followed.
Mike Skurja and Rick Nielsen Meet
Mike Skurja and Rick Nielsen first met at Naval Hospital Oakland, California. Their professional relationship would eventually help shape decades of clinical electrophysiology education.
